FAQ'S
Q: Why should I choose Port Dalhousie Pet Services?
A: Not only are we 100% reliable and have grown into a professional business, but we assure that your pet is taken care of properly, and with affection. We not only have four years of experience in the dog walking biz but have a passion for what we do. We make a difference in your pet's life. Our prices are very affordable and lower than any other dog walking business in the neighborhood. We are experienced with PetSmart puppy training and McCann dog training. You and your pet are in good hands.

Q: How do meet and greets work?
A: Before we take you and your pup or pet on as a client, we make sure you and your pet(s) are comfortable with us. We'll come to discuss our services, collect your information, discuss scheduling, and answer any questions you might have.

Q: Can my dog be walked on a regular schedule?
A: Absolutely. We walk dogs throughout the day, every day of the week, including weekends and some holidays. We want you to enjoy your time away with no worries, so we set regular walks that fit your schedule. Call or email us to discuss our current schedule and how we can accommodate your pup or pet.

Q: When is payment due? What form of payment do you accept?
A: Most clients pay using bulk payments. This can be almost any dollar amount, given once a month, and time is logged until the bulk payment is close to zero. At that point, you will be notified to submit another bulk payment to bring your balance back. We also accept payment after every walk, should you prefer. Payment methods include cash, cheques, e-transfers, or Paypal.

Q: Do you come to my house for dog walking and pet sitting?
A: Yes. Your pet is our top priority, and keeping your pet safe and happy in their familiar home is best. We collect your dog at the scheduled walk time and bring your pup back to you when the walk is done. When pet sitting, we will arrive at the scheduled times to feed, play, or snuggle with your pet in your home.

Q: Do I have to live in Port Dalhousie?
A: At the moment, yes. Our clients are mostly in the Port Dalhousie area, or within a walk or short bike ride away. Who knows what the future holds--we might expand our area someday--but for now we stay within Port Dalhousie.

Q: What happens if weather conditions are bad?
A: In the event of extreme weather (thunderstorms, pouring rain, snowstorms, blizzards, or heat waves) your dog's safety is our number one priority. When extreme weather hits, we modify the walk time or reschedule for a better day.

Q: Will my dog be walking with other dogs?
A: No. We believe every pup deserves one-on-one attention. We do not do group walks with multiple dogs outside of one household.

Q: What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
A: If you need to cancel or reschedule a walk/pet sit, please give us as much notice as possible, and we'd be happy to alter the schedule or plan another day.

Q: How will you be getting into my house?
A: Most of our clients provide a code for entering the garage or front door. If you prefer, we can also use a house key. During our meet and greet, we usually ask for you to walk us through getting into the house, and any instructions you'd like us to follow.

Q: What if there's an emergency? Or my pet gets injured?
A: In four years, we have not once experienced a pet emergency. If one was to occur, your pet would be our first priority. In the case of a severe emergency, your pet will be taken to the closest vet if you cannot be reached. During our meet and greet, we will discuss your preferences for emergencies, including instructions and contact information.

Q: How can I get started?
A: Email us for a chat! We can schedule a meet and greet and get started as soon as you`re ready. Please review our services page for detailed options, so we can discuss your questions during our chat. You can also contact us directly through our contact form on this site.
